Koji Ida holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Waseda University, Japan.

Koji Ida has been serving as the Financial Director at ERIA since March 2024. He began his career at the Bank of Tokyo Ltd. (now known as MUFG Bank Ltd.) in 1993 and held various positions, including serving at the Yangon Representative Office in Myanmar from 1996 to 1998.

Before joining ERIA, he worked at the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), a Japanese governmental organisation promoting trade and investment, starting in 2001. He was responsible for ASEAN-related tasks, including economic research on ASEAN countries, at the Tokyo Head Office from 2001 to 2006, the Jakarta Office in Indonesia from 2006 to 2010, and the Ho Chi Minh Office in Vietnam from 2021 to 2024.
