Jakarta, 6 August 2025: Professor Nobuhiro Aizawa, Dean of the ERIA School of Government (SOG), met with H.E. Dr Kao Kim Hourn, Secretary-General of ASEAN, at the ASEAN Headquarters in Jakarta to discuss collaborative initiatives.

Professor Aizawa thanked the Secretary-General and ASEAN for their continued support for SOG and presented a proposal to establish an annual academic forum dedicated to providing in-depth, forward-looking analysis on the State of ASEAN. The forum aims to serve as a platform for scholarly and policy-oriented dialogue that can help inform ASEAN’s strategic priorities.

The meeting also reviewed SOG’s recent progress and explored opportunities to align the proposed forum with ASEAN’s broader agenda.

This engagement reflects the School of Government’s mission to strengthen public policy development and regional co-operation in ASEAN and East Asia.
