ERIA 2.0 Launched at the 9th ERIA Governing Board Meeting

On June 16, the ERIA Governing Board held two back-to-back meetings at the ASEAN Secretariat: the 9th Governing Board Meeting (GBM) followed by a half day discussion between ERIA and the Ambassadors of ERIA Member States plus Mongolia. The meetings focused on the future of ERIA with discussions on wide-ranging issues impacting regional economic development.

The 28th and 29th ASEAN Summits and other related meetings were held in Vientiane, Lao PDR on 6-8 September 2016. Future strategies for the industrialisation of Lao PDR were discussed at a one-day National Policy Dialogue on Wednesday, 30 March, at the Lao Plaza Meeting Room. The Dialogue was co-organised by the Ministry of Industry and Commerce (MOIC), Lao PDR, and the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA), located in Jakarta.

On 13 April 2016, ERIA organised a meeting between the Parliamentary League for ERIA (PLE) and Parliamentary Members of ASEAN Member States (PMAs) in Tokyo, Japan to establish a cooperative network between the two bodies. Highlighting the necessity of establishing a platform for communication between ERIA and PMAs, this event was held on the sidelines of the meeting of the Organization of Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Global Parliamentary Network.
